I adopted Sputnik (formerly Spunkee) in November 2017 after he had been in a foster home for over a year. He had been overlooked at adoption stands due to being shy, and after reading his story, I decided to meet him and take a chance.
He immediately fit in with my resident cat, and now they are best friends who love to play together. He warmed up to me and my boyfriend quickly, and he even comes out to say hello when guests come to my home. He continues to be more loving and social every day despite his intital shyness.
The lesson I learned is that a shy cat at an adoption stand does not mean a shy cat in a forever home. |
