Ethan Hunt
Adoption Pending
Meet Ethan, short for Ethan Hunt; he is a very loving and playful kitten. He was rescued together with his sister Ruby (adoption pending) at about 4 weeks of age. His birthday is around September 10th. He has been neutered and microchipped and is looking for a loving purrever home.
Ethan Hunt is named after the handsome Mission: Impossible character who mostly wears black. The feline Ethan shares his great gift for observation and detective work. He figures things out quickly and will find all hidden treats. He is very confident and outgoing.
Ethan is also a cuddly kitten who likes to fall asleep on his foster Mom purring and sleeps all night on the bed with her. He loves to play with her hair and greets her nose-to-nose. Ethan plays a lot with his toys and his sister Ruby. They are best buddies. Ethan is good with other cats, not afraid of dogs and would love to have another feline buddy to play with all day long.
Ethan has gorgeous amber eyes with faint blue in the middle and a brown perimeter. His sleek and shiny fur looks all black, but when the light is right, one can see subtle “shadow” tabby stripes. Here are some fun facts about this phenomenon:
Tabby is not a breed but refers to distinctive coat markings like stripes or spots. These have a solid dark color and are contrasted by lighter, multi-colored areas. All cats have the tabby gene, even solid black cats. Tabby patterns cannot usually be seen in them though because the gene combination that produces the solid black coat blocks the production of the lighter colored hairs. This masks the expression of the tabby trait. However faint striping can sometimes be seen on black cats, especially kittens, when viewed in certain lights like sunlight. This is called “shadow” or "ghost” striping.
