Clover is one of the three Lucky Charms sisters! Before coming to CARE, Clover and her littermates were found under the hood of a car by a mechanic; CARE estimates they were approximately a week old. We knew they would need some luck to survive without their mom at such a young age, so we gave them what luck we could in their names. Clover is the smallest of the three, and the most reserved. She has a delicate squeak of a meow, and will gently tap your foot or ankle if she wants your attention.

Clover is just as content to nap on her own as she is to snuggle up next to you or with her sisters. She likes to gallop around the house with her sisters and play with the house humans. Clover and her sisters have had a chance to interact with several different families and all warmed up to new people within a day. They haven’t been able to be introduced to other animals yet due to their age and vaccine history, but they have heard/smelled dogs and other cats on the other side of a door. After startling the first time or two hearing a dog bark, they seemed less scared and more interested in discovering the dogs or cats attached to the new smells.

Clover and her sisters are litterbox trained, let us trim their nails, have free access to water and dry food in shared bowls, and eat wet food 3x/day from individual bowls. When it’s meal time (wet food) and Clover has finished eating, she likes to see if Penny wants help. To distract Clover from this, we would pick her up. One of the times we picked her up, she burped so loud she startled herself! Now it has become her habit to come up to one of us when she is done so we can pick her up and burp her like a baby.

In a perfect scenario, all three Lucky Charms sisters would go to the same home. Clover would do well in a home with another animal friend to play with, but we think she would be ok as an only pet, too, as long as her humans were home with her for a majority of the time.

All adoptions require an online application at https://care-cats.org first.
